From Concept to Production Realistic physics-based simulation is a keystone that enables us to construct innovative and reliable industrial additive manufacturing processes. In this eSeminar, we will explore how simulation enables a seamless connection between virtual and real representations of what we design and build using new additive manufacturing technologies to:
We will also show how technologies from our sister-brand BIOVIA can be used to look at the atomistic and molecular level mechanics and follow the transformation of the material through the different length scales to accurately predict part distortions. In the second segment we will demonstrate how topology optimization is being used to produce designs specifically for Additive Manufacturing with no overhangs (hence, no supports). Finally, we will show how new technology from SIMULIA is being used to model the printing process to predict the thermal histories as well as the residual stresses. Presenter Senior Technical Specialist – Dr. Sakya Tripathy Sakya Tripathy is a Senior Technical Specialist focused on the Additive Manufacturing initiative. As a part of this group, he develops technical content and engages with customers and partners for technical enablement. He also works closely with SIMULIA R&D and other Dassault Systèmes brands to advance unified solutions, especially in the additive manufacturing domain. Sakya is based at the Dassault Systèmes San Diego office. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. |
